Teaching

In keeping with my academic interests, I teach courses in political sociology, development, political economy, globalization, health, science and religion, and research methods.

I have written several pieces on pedagogy, most recently an article on teaching international development using museum artifacts with Megan Hancock while my 2014 article discusses the use of anonymous secrets as a tool for teaching students about the sociological imagination and analyses students' responses to this resource.

I was honored to receive a student-nominated PIE award in 2014 and in 2017 at the University of Wyoming, which rewards teaching in first-year courses as well as a College of Arts and Science "Top Ten Professor Award" in 2017.

Please contact me for a copy of any of these syllabi or for more information about these courses.
